Ancient Winter Sentinel
Grand Canyon National Park
Life on the edge of the Grand Canyon can be a harsh life indeed... especially during winter where the snow fall is often measured in feet, scouring winds can howl over the rim of the canyon, and the temperatures are usually below freezing and can plummet toward zero. But, the harsh landscapes of the Colorado Plateau such as Grand Canyon contain a beauty that is rarely matched in the rest of the world. Photo © copyright by Chris Eaton.
