Detritus (noun): a product of disintegration, destruction, or wearing away; miscellaneous remnants. The American landscape is littered with detritus. From abandoned homesteads to weather-worn and rusty mining ruins to crumbling Ancestral Pueblos, the remnants of what came before have become one with the land; slowly, the land absorbs them and they become inseparable.
